Firms producing electric vehicles are looking to up their headcount by 20-25% in the coming months

Firms producing electric vehicles are looking to up their headcount by 20-25% in the coming months, reports Economic Times citing data from a Ciel HR services survey covering 50 companies. In the last two years, the average employee count in the EV industry has risen by 110%. The rising demand for EVs has pushed up hiring across domains including component and battery manufacturers, charging and swapping infrastructure, and vehicle maintenance infrastructure.

Mahindra Electric, Hero Electric, Ola Electric, Ather Energy, and Exicom Power Solutions are some of the firms looking to expand their teams. Meanwhile, industry experts believe that the recent electric vehicle fire incidents would not deter companies from onboarding new talent.

Companies are recruiting people largely from Bengaluru, Delhi NCR, Pune, Coimbatore, and Chennai, with candidates from engineering, operations, sales, and business background being most in demand.
